Working as one of our Broadcast Assistants, you’ll be assisting our Producers and Presenters with all aspects of the on air programme schedule. You’ll assess the calls from listeners whose contributions are a key part of our output and act as that first point of contact with the public for all programme enquiries. You’ll also connect ISDN lines, signal test our radio car and, on occasion, drive the desk. You’ll also be expected to work on other areas of the output as required.

You’ll be an experienced Broadcast Assistant with a well developed knowledge and passion for people’s stories and compelling output. You must have strong organisational, communication, influencing and persuading skills as well as bags of ideas and creative treatments. In addition you’ll need an understanding of our local radio audience; their topical interests and one other community. It’s essential that you can work within a team as well as on your own initiative.

Role Objective:

• To assist in the smooth running of our warehouse and in ensuring that an excellent standard of service is provided for clients.

Duties

1. To prepare equipment for events, including the loading and unloading of vehicles

2. To undertake housekeeping and general duties

3. To undertake the maintenance and testing of equipment

4. To drive vehicles as instructed

5. To undertake routine maintenance of vehicles

6. To undertake installation of audio systems and equipment at customer’s premises

7. To assist engineers on site in the provision of event services to clients

8. To carry out any other reasonable duties requested by the proprietor

Qualifications

At least five GCSEs at grade C or above, to include English and Maths

Full, clean drivers licence.

Some experience of p.a. or of servicing events

Freelance Broadcast Engineers Wanted

2008 looks like being a bumper year for us and that means we’ll need help.

If you are an experienced freelance broadcast engineer with a strong background in pro-audio systems (although knowledge of video and IT would also be nice) I want to hear from you.

I am looking for personable engineers who can hit the ground running and deliver a variety of upcoming projects in London, the Midlands, East Anglia and the north of England.

So if you know the difference between mix-minus and clean feed, Image 360 from SD02 and 237A and 237Bs then get in touch asap!

The successful candidate will produce movie promotional programmes and services including official movie press kits and podcasts.

Excellent communication skills, journalistic and interview technique a prerequisite.

The ideal candidate will be a hands-on, creative self starter with 1-2 years experience with audio editing software such as Pro-Tools plus an understanding of editorial issues and audience expectations across entertainment genres.

Experience with Mac software such as Final Cut Pro, Apple DVD Studio Pro, Photoshop and Quark a bonus.

Daily duties will include coordinating ISDN studio sessions, location sound recording, attending press junkets and premieres to interview celebrities, selecting and editing movie scenes suitable for promotional use, designing promotional materials & syndicating to UK radio/online media, writing and producing movie podcasts.

We’re on the lookout for freelance Tech Ops.

We’re out and about across the area, and need a steady hand to man the studios during Outside Broadcasts, special events, etc.

You’ll be operating the studio equipment, dialling ISDN lines, and RCS knowledge would be an advantage – but not essential.

We require a full-time staff Broadcast, Events, Music, Studio & Corporate sound recordist to work out of our West London Facilities.

We expect a minimum of 2 years recognizable credits & checkable references.

You must have experience with SQN, radio mics, booming etc.. for general interviews, OBDOC, News, occasional drama etc…

Sound engineering knowledge is an asset as we often film live events that require location sound control & post-production mixes.

N.B. this is a facility house not a freelancer job.

Interest in cameras, post-prod, studio lighting is good of course, plenty of those guys out there, but we need an team player who won’t moan if they are asked to sweep the yard, make tea, make deliveries etc… as well as able to record great sound.

Our standard office hours are 09.30 – 18.00, Mon – Fri, but the job involves weekends, late nights, drop everything schedules as is the nature of the industry, as Lord Baden-Powell said ‘be prepared’.

You must have a clean, full, UK driving License & be aged over 21 for vehicle insurance purposes, as well as knowing your way around London & the UK like a taxi driver!

This role is not for the faint hearted as the environment we work in is a tough one.

This position is expected to be a non paying role, so a really good chance for some of you to get some experience on your CV.

We require a production assistant who must have experience and be fully conversant with Logic 7.2 / Apple Mac / digital recording techniques.

The ability to assist in score writing using Sibelius is also required.

All applicants must have the abilities above plus being able to record using virtual instruments and drum beat making.
We need to reflect top quality, so if you can work very fast and accurately and take pride in your work and sounds, we want to hear from you.

You must live in easy travel distance from our studio .This opportunity would suit someone who would like to develop here into a producer in their own right one day, or just be satisfied being a production support person working with our Producers in house.

Audio visual experience desirable too as we make videos as well.

The company have some exciting acts and bands this year to produce, and some names to work with as well!

This role would suit someone wishing to gain a foot hole and experience in this industry.

We can not promise straight forward payment, but a good reference and obviously credits for work undertaken is worth having.
